  • Overview

    The Maintenance Supervisor has accountability for daily activities for maintenance and grounds employees, ensuring they are performed in accordance with accepted work practices, policies and safety standards. Prepare budget and manage departments to financial expectations. Schedule staff to provide adequate coverage to meet the maintenance needs across the region. Manage ongoing maintenance projects and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are meet. The Maintenance Supervisor assures that customers are the focus of all business activities and that employee satisfaction is the essential ingredient within all efforts.


    • Creates and maintains a communication system to assure all employees have relevant, timely, and appropriate information.

    • Establishes and reviews expectations that guide, motivate and hold people accountable for their work.

    • Demonstrates effective stewardship of limited resources.

    • Demonstrates ongoing fiscal responsiveness within and outside area of responsibility.

    • Involves staff and stakeholders in cost reduction efforts.

    • Sets appropriate priorities among competing demands.

    • Respond to emergency, crisis and unscheduled repair needs.

    • Manages and operates computerized preventive maintenance system. Ensure equipment inventory is accurate, PM work orders are timely and appropriate and reports are provided on PM completion.

    • Set standard expectations base on benchmarks in industry.

    • Meets all regulatory requirements.

    • Understands the importance of customer service.

    • Sets an example of exemplary customer service.

    • Continuously builds customer understanding by listening to customers.

    • Anticipates customer needs, including those with different cultural needs and desires.

    • Takes action to meet and exceed the needs of all customer groups.

    • Continuously implements strategies to improve customer satisfaction.

    • Improves overall customer satisfaction results.



    • 2 year Vocational/Technical Degree or Associate Degree in HVAC systems maintenance or equivalent experience.

    • 5 years of large facility or healthcare facility trade maintenance supervision or management

    • Valid Minnesota driver's license


    • Facility energy management systems

    • 5 years of large facility or healthcare facility trade maintenance supervision or management

    • Minnesota 1st Class C Boiler License

    • Journeyman, Master trade license or Chief Engineer License

    • Behavior Control (BSC)

    Vaccination Update

    As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the wellbeing of our teams and to provide a safe and healthy environment for the patients and communities we serve, all Fairview employees will be required to receive both an annual flu vaccination and the COVID-19 vaccination series. Current employees must have completed both vaccination schedules on or before October 31, 2021.Beginning August 9, 2021, any new hires who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to receive their first dose prior to their start date and their second dose (if receiving Moderna or Pfizer vaccines) within 4 weeks of their start date.
