    Position Summary

    Overnight 3rd Shift Sanitation Associates will clean facility and equipment to meet internal Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and ensure FDA & USDA standards. The primary focus is doing a deep clean on machines to ensure they pass pre-op inspection each morning. Some team members will focus on a particular area. Most will work Monday-Friday nights but a few will work Sunday-Thursday nights.

    Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

    • Responsible for deep clean of wide variety of machinery so they will pass morning inspection

    • Must properly break down and clean all production machinery and equipment

    • Review and follow internal Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), as well as, FDA & USDA standards

    • Clean and sanitize all belts, surfaces, machines, and lines

    • Mop and squeegee floors, wipe down walls, etc. in production areas

    • Occasionally may use a ladder or scissor lift to reach and clean higher levels

    • Remove trash and cardboard and transport waste outside to trash compactor and receptacles

    • Properly use and maintain cleaning chemicals

    • Help with general housekeeping and organization

    • Follow & encourage other to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

    • May help clean and maintain bathrooms, hand wash stations, or other general areas (e.g., break room, etc.)

    • May help clean around exterior of the building or put down salt in the winder as needed

    • May help in dishroom or other areas as needed

    • Observation and initiative skills

    • Good communication skills

    • Attention to detail as sanitation programs are key to preventing listeria, ecoli, and other potential bacteria problems

    • Willingness to cross-train and help in other areas as needed

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    • Previous food sanitation experience a plus

    Physical Requirements

    • Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms

    • Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen

    • Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch

    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

    • Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

    • Able to perform repetitive movements

    • Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
