    Summary

    ThisRemote Driving Janitor position provides a variety of laundry attending,cleaning services and other related duties required to keep remote industrialhousing facilities, food service areas, office facilities, or similar areas ina clean and orderly condition. Thisposition will expedite product, supplies and equipment from camp to camp. All duties are to be performed in accordancewith NMS' mission, vision, and values as well as housekeeping policies,practices, and procedures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Cleans,vacuums, mops, or restocks hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation orbreak areas, kitchen areas or equipment, laundry rooms, clinics, living areas,work areas, off-site areas, common areas, restrooms, public areas, or othersimilar areas

    • Sweeps,mops, scrubs, strips, extract, waxes, buff, vacuums, etc. all types of floors

    • Dustsboth low and high areas. Wipes down or cleans various surfaces

    • Usesappropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks

    • Removesand properly disposes of discarded materials

    • Maycompact trash

    • Removesand transports trash to the appropriate disposal areas

    • Removelinen, towels, and trash from various areas

    • Restockssleeping rooms and bathrooms, verifying that towels, sheets and blankets areavailable for each appropriate room

    • Mayrequire cleaning of indoor and/or outdoor smoking lounges

    • Maychange light bulbs and perform very light facility maintenance

    • Maykeep building entryways free of snow and debris

    • Participatesin and supports corporate safety programs

    • Extensivedriving with the possibility of foul weather conditions

    • Responsiblefor extensive transport and delivery of a variety of items to and from sites

    • Locatesand distributes materials to specific areas manually or using handcart, handtruck and Tommy lift

    • DriveBox Van to outlying areas to deliver materials

    • Otherrelated duties may also be assigned

    • Notifysupervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.

    • Otherduties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may beassigned.

    • Thisposition has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • HighSchool Diploma or GED equivalent

    • Atleast one (1) year experience that evidences a working knowledge of commercialcleaning equipment and industrial cleaning processes.

    • Atleast one (1) year experience in commercial housekeeping.

    • Avalid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3)years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.

    • Mustpass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are notlimited to: hair follicle drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment andhearing test. Applicants not locatednear a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearesttesting facility.

    • Mustbe able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees,customers and clients.

    • Mustbe able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.

    • Mustbe able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.

    • Mustbe able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirementsof the remote camp.

    • Contractrequires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

    • Mustmeet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by thecompany and client.

    CANDIDATESRESIDING OUTSIDE ANCHORAGE AREA: For thepurposes of pre-employment testing, Anchorage will be considered the point ofhire. Employee is responsible for any travel expenses and needed accommodationsrelated to pre-employment tasks that need to be completed in Anchorage, AK.This includes, but is not limited to, any safety training requirements,required pre-employment testing and/or training such as physical, DOTphysical/medical card, fit for duty, audiogram, and/or other testing requiredby contract/company (such as NSTC, APICC training, security licensingrequirements, etc. Employee is responsible for reporting to point of hire(Anchorage, AK) for scheduled trips paid for by the company for remotelocations. Transportation to the North Slope will be provided by the companyfrom either Anchorage or Fairbanks.

    Weather:Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed toarctic conditions.

    Noiselevel: Moderate to Loud

    Descriptionof environment: This is a remote camp setting. Employees must constantly be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, push, pulluse hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and maybe exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

    Travel: Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus toremote camps.

    Physicalrequirements: Fit For Duty Test

    • Lift: Lift 50 lbs. from floor to knuckle x2

    • Lift: Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist x 2

    • Lift: Lift 38 lbs. from floor to shoulders x 2

    • Carry: Carry 38 lbs. with two hands for a minimumdistance of 30 feet x 2, self-paced.

    • Allow a 60 second restperiod between carry tests.

    • Push: push horizontally with a peak force of 50f-lbs. with two hands

    • Pull: pull horizontally with a peak force of 75f-lbs. with two hands.

    • Stoop & Twist: Perform alternate cross over toe touches x 5each side, self-paced but continuous.

    • Squat Test: Functionally squat x 5, self-paced butcontinuous.

    • Stairs: Climb up and down 12 steps x 15 for a totalof 180 steps,

    • Allow 30 second rest afterclimbing up and down each set of 50 steps, self-paced.

    • Stairs & Carry: Climb up and down 10 steps x 5 for a total of50 steps while carrying 38 lbs. in one hand and using the other hand to grasp arailing for safety, self-paced.

    • Allow a 60 second restperiod after climbing up and down 25 steps while carrying.

    • Slanted Ladder: Climb a slanted ladder with 3 rungs x 3repetitions for a total of 9 rungs, self-paced but continuous.
