Facilities Management at the University of Colorado Boulder has multiple vacancies for a newly created LTC Custodial Trainee position.
The LTC Custodial Trainee is an entry-level position for training and developing skills toward becoming a Custodian I at the University. The six to twelve month training process utilizes a system of modules to acquaint the trainee with elements of our Custodial Team Cleaning process, standard equipment operation and university cleaning standards while providing increasing levels of responsibility.
We are also looking for individuals for our specialized floor crew team. Employees will be trained on standard operating procedures, equipment and safety protocols to strip and refinish floors as well as extracting carpets on campus.
Upon completing training, the LTC Custodial Trainee will be reclassified as a Custodian I.

/What your key responsibilities will be:/
As LTC Custodial Trainee, you will be responsible for learning the following: maintaining and cleaning building interiors and furnishings in state institutions and facilities; following sanitary standards; washing, wiping, dusting, scrubbing, scouring, laundering, disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, moping, buffing, and polishing surfaces, floors, walls, windows, lavatories, furnishings, and fabric; and collecting and disposing of trash.
Assignments may include keeping exterior walkways clear of debris and snow. Most positions operate on the Team Cleaning concept.
Floor crew trainee will be responsible for learning the following: use of specialized floor maintenance equipment, stripping, scrubbing and refinishing all types of floor surfaces; spot cleaning and extracting carpeting. Assignments may also include learning team cleaning duties and snow removal.
/What you should know:/
This is an essential services position. The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shift during emergency campus closures.
The hours for AM Shift openings are Monday â€“ Friday from 4:30 AM â€“ 1:00 PM, with Swing shift openings being Monday â€“ Thursday from 3:15 to 11:45 PM and Friday from 1:30 to 10:00 PM We also have vacancies on our Floor Crew which works four (4) 10 hour
Shifts; Monday â€“ Thursday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM

The starting salary for this position is $12.10 per hour / $25,168 per year. The pay will increase to $26,736 upon completion of the training period.

Must be able to speak, read and understand basic English.
