    The Laundry Helper ensures adequate amounts of clean linen are available at all times.

    Principal Accountabilities

    Checks in quantity of carts/linen received from laundry processor.

    Checks linen for any defects and rejects as necessary. Reviews reject linen bag; sorts linen for mending/stain follow

    up or destroy /rag as appropriate.

    Delivers clean linen to departments and stocks on shelves.

    Inventories and restocks linen exchange carts, may use computerized systems for counting. Keeps track of linen

    supply to ensure adequate linen on hand; requests additional linen from laundry when appropriate.

    Maintains linen carts: cleans, stores full carts ready for transport, covers carts when not stocking.

    May process in- and out-going mail for department. May archive records.

    Responds to customer requests for linen.

    Sorts, folds and stacks linen for cart exchange, delivery and storage.




    High school diploma or equivalent is required.


    Prefer experience in linen/ laundry department with inventory management exchange and replenishment systems for acute care facility.


    Knowledge sufficient to differentiate different kinds of linen.


    Requires the ability to accurately add and subtract numbers. Ability to use computers. The ability to process work load in a timely manner.
