  • Role Purpose:

    Responsible for daily housekeeping duties within the Facility. Performs cleaning and sanitation tasks according to established Facility procedures. Environmental Services Lead Worker will support the housekeeping staff.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Chemicals/MSDS

    • Daily cleaning of residents rooms, bathrooms, hallways, utility rooms, entry ways, shower/tub rooms, chapel/conference room, employee lounges, dining areas, lounge/library area, main lobby area, offices, and other areas. Dry mopping, wet mopping, dusting, vacuuming carpets and removal of trash.

    • Washing of cubicle drapes/window drapes

    • Floor scrubbing with floor scrubber. Care of floor scrubber. Care of buffing machine.

    • Setting up and removal infection control rooms. Infection control cleaning. Care of equipment after cleaning infection control room.

    • Hand washing. Gloving and wearing the correct PPE

    • Care of cleaning housekeeping cart/stocking. Care of mops and rags

    • Room changes. Discharge/death of a resident

    • Extra assigned cleaning tasks - complete 2 times weekly

    • Cleaning of offices.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required

    • Deal with time pressures and stress

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Previous housekeeping experience is desirable

    Physical Requirements:

    Employees in this position are, or can be, required to possess the following physical capabilities:

    • Lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 30 lbs.

    • Stooping, kneeling and/or crouching daily.

    • Standing or walking more than 4 hours a day.

    • Running to respond to patient emergencies.

    • Reaching, grasping, fingering, and/or feeling more than 6 hours a day.

    • Visual acuity in order to correctly distinguish skin tone variations, evidence of IV infiltration, infection; able to read telemetry, blood pressure gauges, etc.

    • Audio acuity in order to correctly distinguish various body sounds (i.e., respirations, heart tones, bowel sounds).

    • Audio acuity to discern sounds made by various types of machinery or equipment that would indicate dangerous or improper operation.

    Department Specific:

    Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers; follow verbal and written instructions.
