The primary purpose of this position is to maintain a safe, clean and infection- controlled environment in all areas. Housekeepers are required to perform all assigned duties in an efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures. They are to assist and rotate in all work areas and maintain an efficient workflow. Housekeepers must be flexible with their work assignments and be proficient both bed management and IVR systems.
Candidate may also be expected to assist in performing other administrative task as assigned as well as assisting other areas of the Revenue Cycle Division or Clinical Services Division as deemed necessary.
Primary Responsibilities & Requirements
Must be in good physical condition with no limitations that prevent the employee from stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, squatting, squeezing, grasping, bending, climbing, carrying and constantly being on their feet.
Regular lifting of 40 lbs. and pushing of 200 lbs.
Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, toxic chemical and bio-medical waste.
Exposure to expired patients and body parts.
Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
Maintain attendance (including tardiness) in accordance with departmental standards.
Complete safety evaluation, JCAHO Education, TB Testing, Confidentiality, Information Systems usage and HIPAA/Corporate Compliance notification on an annual basis.
Exhibit accepted level of Teamwork and RESPECT.
Accept change as needed to meet departmental goals.
Work outside departmental silo as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Job Qualifications/Skill Sets
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral, with customers and members of the interdisciplinary team.
Must meet physical requirements.
Previous cleaning experience preferred.
