Position Summary Details

The Grounds Keeper maintains property grounds by cutting lawns; trimming and edging along walkways, flower beds, and walls; trimming bushes and trees; planting bushes and flowers; applying lawn care chemicals, as needed; and removing snow and spreading salt. Also repairs and maintains mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (6:00 am to 2:30 pm)

Pay Rate: $19.20 per hour

Essential Functions

• Assists the Critical Facility Technician with testing and rounds.

• Ensures strict adherence to critical facility work rules and safety procedures.

• Is familiar with all applicable Federal, State, and local rules, codes, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• The Grounds Keeper maintains property grounds by cutting lawns; trimming and edging along walkways, flower beds, and walls; trimming bushes and trees; plants bushes and flowers; applying lawn care chemicals, as needed; and removing snow and spreading salt. Also repairs and maintains mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems.

• Performs preventive maintenance on all building equipment

• Assists, as necessary, with scheduling of preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance with minimal disruption of building services

• Responds quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns

• Knows warehouse/inventory management principles and best practices

• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Can prioritize projects and has strong problem-solving skills

• Has good research skills and is highly organized, with strong attention to detail

• Can work independently

• Can speak, read, and write English

Qualifications

• One year of similar experience is preferred.

• Must be 18 years of age or older
