    Description:

    The EVS Supervisor provides a clean environment and assist licensed staff in providing professional, quality care to the patient and family. Plans, organizes, directs and assesses the work of employees to maintain the highest possible sanitary standards and good public relations. Promotes the safety, health and positive morale of visitors and employees and the patient's recovery by providing a clean, attractive, safe environment. Performs supervisory functions in a thorough and efficient manner using resources of time, supplies, equipment and instruction to continually improve the quality of work performed.

    What the EVS Supervisor will need:

    • AA or AS degree related to healthcare or minimum of 5 years' experience in the healthcare setting.

    • Minimum management experience of 5 years; experience in environmental cleaning programs in a hospital setting preferred.

    • Ability to facilitate staff development through appropriate coaching, mentoring and counseling.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required.

    • Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups with diverse perspectives.

    • Ability to plan, organize and manage staff in work area activities in order to provide strong customer satisfaction.

    • Excellent customer service skills with internal and external customers to maintain and promote positive work relationships.

    • Proficient in continuous quality improvement processes.

    • In depth knowledge and understanding of scheduling.

    • Experience in Windows-based computer application.

    What the EVS Supervisor will do:

    • Responsible for application review, interview (to include peer interview) and selection of Environmental Services Colleagues with Director approval.

    • Responsible for the training of new hires as assigned utilizing department training materials.

    • Responsible for scheduling of colleagues to cover sick calls; ability to accurately process Paid Time Off (PTO) requests.

    • Maintains Quality Control through monitoring of cleaning outcomes. Inspects and surveys assigned areas for compliance with cleaning standards. Follows up with colleagues when necessary to correct deficiencies in a timely way.

    • Develops and implements project cleaning assignments through facility mapping.Proactively schedules work and maintains record of work completed.

    • Responsible for the day-to-day operations to include appropriate and timely response to phone and email requests, meeting room management, dispatch of colleagues to meet the needs of the facility; adjusting of workloads and assignment of appropriate tasks to colleagues.
