  • Description of Work

    Perform routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of Campus Recreation facilities including offices, hallways, conference rooms, classrooms, restrooms, locker and shower rooms, kitchen, gymnasiums, fitness rooms, indoor track, etc. Scrub floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines. Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors. Mix cleaning solutions per instruction. Collect and dispose of refuse requiring heavy physical efforts. Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasionally use a ladder for high dusting. Must be able to work in any Campus Recreation facility.

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    Eighth grade education or equivalent required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must have the ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios. Must have the ability to gain the required knowledge and skill to operate large cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.

    Preferred Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred. Previous custodial experience preferred.

    Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre-employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances. No
