Job Purpose - To maintain and continuously improve the reliability and efficiency of all production equipment and facilities, with little or no supervision. - To create a proactive preventative maintenance culture that minimizes equipment breakdown.
Key Tasks: - To ensure all machines and facilities in the factory are working efficiently and safely. - To effectively maintain machines, buildings, site services and utilities including hydraulics, pneumatics, Fork Lift Trucks (excluding lifting devices) etc, in a timely manner. - To carry out detailed analysis of all faults to determine root causes, preventative and corrective actions and to methodically eliminate faults using modern problem solving techniques. - To constantly strives for, and implement, development and improvement work to give increased equipment uptime and efficiency, whilst reducing costs. - To develop a robust and effective preventative maintenance program, fully understand it, and apply its techniques to minimize equipment breakdown. - To fully understand and apply predictive maintenance techniques. - To provide maintenance breakdown cover across all manufacturing shifts, when required. - To read and interpret schematics or engineering drawings using measurements in both English and Imperial units, - Prepare new, or modify existing, schematics or engineering drawings, for machines and facilities, following any changes. - To assist in the early detection of deterioration in performance of tools, machinery and equipment through the use and understanding of SPC. - Maintain a sound working knowledge of the mechanical and electrical functions of all machines and facilities by continually learning and implementing best practices. - To operate all types of tool room equipment for the manufacture of machinery parts. - To implement TPM throughout the factory. - To adhere to the principles of 5S to their own area of work, wherever that works may be in the factory. - To understand and apply SMED principles to reduce changeover time. - Alternative scheduling may be required due to nature of job.

Education and/or Experience: - Associate?s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; - One to three years related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
