First Shift Supervisor

The candidate for this position will report to the Windsor Locks Distribution Manager in the Aftermarket Supply Chain Organization. The candidate must be highly motivated and possess outstanding leadership, interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Hamilton Sundstrand' Aftermarket Supply Chain Organization is a dynamic environment that engages in the support of Aerospace customers involving propulsion systems, air management, fuel control and electronic engine controls that operate on almost every military aircraft platform produced around the world. The desired candidate would be involved in every aspect of day to day Distribution operations including supervision of the first shift material handlers. The candidate will also be tasked with specific projects directed towards identifying process improvements to achieve world class on time delivery of product to internal and external customers. Flexible working hours as well the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously will be common in this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise 15 hourly associates
Assist in the development and implementation of a World Class Distribution Center
Manage the implementation of various projects such as designing cells, optimizing material location and organization of work stations.
Continual focus on improving performance metrics, ACE progression to Gold standards
Required Skills:
Standard computer fluency including experience with all common Microsoft applications and operating systems
Ability to listen and learn, and communicate within all aspects of the organization
Basic Project Management skills
Preferred Skills:
Previous Materials Management experience
An understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and Supply Chain Management
APICS certification
Customer service skills
An understanding of any quality system such as ACE or Six Sigma
An understanding of Export and or ITAR requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: BS OR BA DEGREE PREFERRED
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years working experience
IND. EXP: Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Industrial, Manufacturing, Space
