Tests and modifies developmental or operational product. Troubleshoots problems and provides corrective action.
Interfaces with engineers to perform tests to provide meaningful data.
Assembles and tests experimental electrical equipment and components according to engineering specifications.
Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of engineer. Diagnoses the cause of electrical/mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventive and corrective maintenance.
Installs through hole and surface mount components in proper orientation and inspects completed boards for loading faults.
Works under immediate supervision one job at a time, on duties and tasks that are simple and repetitive from detailed verbal and written instructions.
Ensures laboratory stock levels are appropriate and keeps hand tools and tests equipment in good working order.
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or at least 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
